Much of the information on this site is available to the general public in an attempt to further educate everyone about the ultra rare and fascinating Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler and Spoiler II cars. It is out intent to continue to do this a long as we can. However, car Registrations and some other technical information is only available to Team Members in good standing (dues paid) in addition, only Team Members are eligible to attend out annual Talladega Family Reunions.

Your photos, stories, questions and restoration hints/information and participation is not only welcomed but encouraged. The site also includes Registration opportunities on certain related limited production cars produced by the Ford Motor Company during the same time period (1968-1969).

The Registration of your car is important to the entire car enthusiast community. Only that information you select is visible to other Team Members and there is no cost to Register. There are numerous short term and long term benefits to Registering your car.  Our goal is to Register every Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II car by condition. This will assist all owners to know how many cars remain and what condition they are in. To some, it is even more important that this information can help find a car from their past and help document prior owners. We have some cars with Registrations from multiple previous owners. We also welcome Registration of Clones to discourage them from ever being passed off as real cars.

You must be a Team Member to access the following information pages:

  • Registered Car details; everyone is able to see the listing of VINs and Registered VINs of all cars. However, you must be a Team Member to view the detailed Registration Forms and Data Plate information, as well as the comments and photos of registered cars.
  • All of the Resource pages are for Team Members only.
  • The Forum is limited to only Team Members.
  • The Free Classifieds are limited to Team Members only; they can be found in the Forum.
  • The For Sale and Sold Car prices information is only available to Team Members. This can be very helpful information if you are looking to buy or sell a car. When available, a link is provided to the car for sale or sold.
  • Click Here to Become a Team Member.

Other benefits to being a Team Member:

-We occasionally send out an email Newsletter to all Team Members with new site updates and information on any other activities we might have planned.

-Participation in Special Team Member only events and activities over the year.

-Your membership is good for a year and only costs $20. We regret that we have to charge anything but the cost of setting up the Registry and maintaining it is far greater than we had ever imagined when we first dreamed of this service.

Thank you for visiting our site and hope that you will join the Team and help us share and spread the knowledge about our Blue Oval Aero Cars.

Richard

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.

  1. Hi Richard, I have registered and been accepted to the 50th anniversary celebration with the Wellborn Museum with my Talladega VIN: 201121. I’m trying to find the schedule of events. I recently spoke with Rick Ochs and was told our Registry Reunion is with the Wellborn events this year. The Wellborn event starts at the Atlanta Speedway. My interest is with the Talladega Registry and the Talladega track events. Am I missing this info on our site, or is it not posted yet? I need to make hotel reservations. Thanks, Elmer

    1. Elmer, thank you for your comment and questions. First off, the 50th Anniversary event at Alexander City and Talladega is an event put on by Tim and Pam Wellborn and their Museum. We have no connection to it other than as a participant and encouraging our group to attend. The Atlanta Track event is optional. We will not be attending due to our work schedule. Here is a link to the schedule. http://www.wellbornmusclecarmuseum.com/aero-reunion Just KLICK ON THE AERO CAR REUNION AND keep scrolling down the page and you will see the full schedule. I have also posted it on our web site at : https://www.talladegaspoilerregistry.com/2019/03/07/wellborn-aero-car-50th-anniversary-update/
