Is Your Car Registered?

Is your car in our Registry? If you own a Talladega, your car is in the Registry, but it may not be registered. If not, IT SHOULD BE! If you have a Spoiler, Spoiler II, Color Code Cyclone, GT 500 Cyclone, King Cobra, Petty Torino/Fairlane, or one of the Prototypes, your car may be in the Registry. If you are looking to purchase one of these cars, you need to check in the Registry for possible information on your potential purchase. If you own one of these cars and you haven’t registered it, why should you?

The Registry has 50 or more visitors every day. Some visitors are interested in the posted articles but many are looking for parts, technical help or information on a specific car. I regularly get inquiries from family members looking for their Dad’s old Talladega or Spoiler II. If they have a VIN I can generally help, if not it becomes more challenging. We also try to provide you with restoration information to the best of our knowledge. If we don’t know your answer, which is often the case, we probably have a reference to send you to.

I have been contacted by a person who had an original Talladega 428 CJ engine. He had the VIN, and he wanted to get it to the current owner of the car. Unfortunately, although we have all the Big T VINs, that particular car was not registered so there was no way to find the current owner. What a loss!

The Registry does not cost you anything to register your car. You can choose if you want to include your name, address, or phone number in the listing. You MUST provide this information at time of registration, but it will not be published unless you permit it. There are two ways to view all the cars in the Registry. The first way to view the listings provides a list of all the VINs in our Registry. This information is available to everyone. The second way is only for Dues paying Team Members. Such Membership only costs $20 per year. This cost helps offset a portion of the annual expenses of keeping the site up and running. (We lose money on this every year, but it is a service we happily provide to the Ford Aero Car family.) These Team Members have full access to all of the details provided by the owner for their car. In many cases, this includes past owners, history, and photos. This can be a wealth of information for people looking at specific cars.

This Dan Gurney Spoiler was owned by Ray Everham and has been for sale on multiple sites and auctions over the past 10 years.

Also, for Team Members, we provide a page that lists all current and past cars for sale. Car descriptions, conditions, past sales, ASKING PRICES, and SOLD PRICES are provided where they were available!

If you have questions, you can always contact me for assistance.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
