I have often posted stories about what our Team Members are working on in their garages. Usually, it is one of the Aero Cars we all like so much. Other times it is something totally unrelated. In this case, it is not an Aero Car but a related car that has been in my garage for over 30 years! It was a daily driver and passed down to each of my kids all of whom put their own dent in it while driving it to high school.

I intend to keep this family patina in place but gradually make it a much more enjoyable driver. It is one of my favorite cars to take out and cruise in and with what’s planned it will get even better. The changes may even make you think of a new project for your driver collector car.

Our 1967 Mustang fastback is nothing real special. It is a 289, automatic with factory air, PS and PB. Disc brake up grades and a 4 barrel cab have been added over the years.  It has gone through a couple of different life cycles but it is now officially my driver classic.

The car is a real deal Southern California car and has next to no rust but it has been messed with a lot which is ok with me. Our first steps to getting it back to life for cruising have been mostly maintenance and safety related. You can see the repairs to the rear of our Project Car by Clicking Here.

Last year we added new wheels and tires, new bumpers and cleaned up the interior some. Once we started driving it there were some issues we weren’t happy with so the car went back into storage for a year while we finished up some other cars. Now we are honestly back on it to make it a safe, comfortable touring car that will get out and drive long distances without worry.
