Bickyard 400 and Aero Cars
The folks in Indianapolis at the Brickyard 400 NASCAR race have decided they want to see our Aero Cars at the track they never raced on! Our friend Doug Schellinger over at the Daytona Superbird Club has just alerted us to a terrific event for all Aero Car owners to be held at the NASCAR Brickyard 400 at Indy next month. Katrina and I have been to the 500 several times. Most recently as last Memorial Day and can tell you first hand it is an awesome place with more history than any other track in the country. THIS IS NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR OR A DISTRACTION FOR THE UPCOMING TALLADEGA SPOILER REUNION…THINK OF IT AS AN APPETISER!
Here is the deal:
Daytona-Superbird Auto Club will be hosting a display of Aero Cars including Talladegas and Cyclone Spoilers at the Brickyard 400. The dates are Friday July 29th, Saturday the 30th, and Sunday the 31st.
Friday 7/29: Display at the Speedway. All cars will be inside the oval track. I expect that we will have enough cars on hand to get on the track for parade laps.
Saturday 7/30 is qualifying day and there is a two hour break between qualifying and final practice where we will be able to get on the track for parade laps.
Sunday 7/31 is race day, and schedule permitting with NASCAR, there will be another parade lap before the race.
The track will be providing weekend passes to our attendees bringing a participating car. You will need to let me know you are coming, and who will be attending.
Saturday and Sunday are the big days, so if you cannot make Friday, you will still have plenty to see and do at the race track.
Doug has a hotel lined up at a reasonable price, $99 per night, and will announce that shortly.
So who is in? Katrina and I have signed up and will have our Talladega there. Let’s see if we can get as many Talladega/Spoilers at the event as MOPARS! Fifteen cars have already committed. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at a premier event on the NASCAR tour, and to be able to drive your car on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

You may want to list who all is planning to attend.
I will be bringing two cars, my barn storming blue Talladega – the one that was once hit by a barn; and, I’m also bringing my white 69 Fairlane SportsRoof. (I spoke to Doug, and he thought having it on hand for comparison would be a great idea.)
Also, how many cars do we need to have in order to assure that we can do parade laps?
