$110,000 Talladega SOLD at Barrett Jackson – UPDATE

After the Blue Talladega sold at the BJ Auction for $110,000 a project car Talladega sold on eBay for just shy of $28,000 and it had significant body damage and needed a complete restoration. Condition #2 cars were barely getting this kind of bid just a couple of months ago.

We are going to get the opportunity to see another Talladega go to auction on January 25th at Mecum Kissimmee. This is a maroon car in our Registry and has just had a complete restoration which, from the photos, appears to be a condition #1 car. It is in our Registry and is number 201958. It will sell on Saturday January 25 2014 just prior to 1 PM Eastern Standard time. Watch for it. Here are some photos of 201958. What do you think it will bring at Auction?

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.

  1. I went an looked at the blue one at Barrett Jackson today. Nice car, glad to see these getting some price traction. Don’t understand why they are up with the Mopars, maybe getting there soon.
