Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John

ColorStudy1

If you missed out on getting your car into the Keeneland Concours we have another chance for you. Bob Ashton of the Muscle Car Corvette Nationals show in Chicago is also involved with the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John (formerly known as the Meadowbrook Concours) in the Detroit area. He is assembling a group of Aero Warriors for this years Concours on July 27, 2014.

This is certainly one of the most prestigious Concours events in the country, and he is overseeing several categories. He already has a great lineup locked in, representing almost all of the drive-trains for the Mopars (Daytona/Charger 500 & Superbird) along with a Dan Gurney Cyclone and the yellow Talladega. He is still looking for another Talladega, a Cyclone Spoiler or Spoiler II, (especially a Cale Yarborough), and a Charger 500 that is 440 powered and not blue. Cars need to be “best of the best” quality and all stock appearing. He also prefers cars that are not from the Detroit area.

If you are interested and think your car might measure up please contact Bob Ashton, Managing Member MCACN, LLC as soon as possible at bashton426@gmail.com.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
