I can’t believe we are into May already! In just a few weeks we will all be getting together in Kingsport TN for the Fairlane Club of America (FCA) Nationals and our very own Talladega Family Reunion. If you have not yet joined FCA you must do so to register for the Nationals and our event. There is no additional cost for the Talladega Family Reunion.

Marty Burke, the coordinator for FCA and our Reunion, assures me that this is going to be a special weekend that we will all enjoy. There will be lots of Fairlanes/Torinos/Cyclones and of course we will all bring out a great number of Talladega and Spoiler/Spoiler II cars.

There will be judged and non-judged show classes, on Friday we have an opportunity to drive on the Bristol Motor Speedway ($40 fee and must drive a club eligible car only), and an awards banquet on Saturday night. Pre-Registration ends June 6th (it must be there by then). You can register on site as well. FCA is also looking for volunteers to help with some of the activities.

The event hotel is the Meadowview for a special rate of $104 per night. www.meadowviewresort.com and use group rate FFCFFCA. We have stayed at this facility before and you won’t be disappointed.

We do not receive copies of Registration forms so please help us out by sending me an email (rfleener@comcast.net) if you are attending this event and include what car you will be bringing.

Thanks and see you in Kingsport June 26-27, 2015!

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
