This will be your hotel. It is just off of Interstate 24 approximately 45 minutes south of Nashville.

We are now taking Registration for the 2016 Talladega Spoiler Family Reunion in Murfreesboro, TN.

We expect most attendees to arrive on Thursday August 4th. Currently we are planning a mini reception that evening at the host hotel which will be the Embassy Suites (more details below). Our weekend plans will remain somewhat flexible based on weather and special last minute activities that we cannot divulge that may become possible.

On Friday morning we will all gather at our home at 8:30 in the morning for a drivers’ meeting. Our home is located approximately 20 minutes from the hotel and maps will be provided. Soon after we will depart in our Aero Cars (or your tow vehicle if you prefer) for a scenic 26 mile, 45 minute drive down some Tennessee back roads. Our destination will be the Short Mountain Distillery, a real moonshine distillery. It is now legal but that was not always the case. There will be demonstrations and samples available. You will also be able to purchase you own bottle(s) to take home!

Short Mountain
Short Mountain Distillery is a lot of fun and entertaining.

Once the tour is over we will drive a short distance to have lunch and possibly do a little antique shopping.

Next up is drive back to Murfreesboro and a visit to the Stones River Civil War Battlefield. Here you can drive through the old battlefield, visit the free National Park Service Civil War Museum and gift shop. Take as long as you like to tour the Museum or visit the Civil War Cemetery across the street, I highly recommend this.

Stones River Battlefield is emotional, educational and an actual Civil War battlefield where one of the bloodiest battles of the war took place.

When you are ready, head back to the Fleener home for a relaxed evening of talking cars, playing with miniature donkeys and looking at our small collection of Aero Cars and “stuff”. We will also be providing a free evening meal and drinks under the trees in our backyard. You will feast on a buffet of famous TN pulled pork BQ and all the fixens from one of our locals’ favorite restaurants.

This is one of our 2016 babies that was born April 5th and was less than 24 hours old when this photo was taken.

Saturday’s activities have not yet been finalized but I am sure you will enjoy the day. We have several exciting possibilities we are still working on but it is to early to “close the deal” on any of them.

You will see at least one example of each of the Ford/Mercury family of Aero Cars plus one from Dodge. The man cave also includes a lot of memorabilia.

On Sunday you are free to head home or hang out for a few days and tour Nashville. If you need a place to store your Aero Car and trailer we will make room at no cost to as many as we can in are farm yard. The entire property is fenced with security gates at the road so your pride and joy will be safe.

Hotel lobby is enclosed and surrounded by the rooms. This will be a great place for us to gather and talk cars.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
