2017 Talladega Spoiler Family Reunion, Part 2: Dr. Cyclone

The fender is not one of Dr. Cyclone’s repo parts but there are others in Alan’s Spoiler II.

The 2017 Talladega Spoiler Family Reunion had a lot of great moments and tremendous participation by attendees. It was with great anticipation that everyone waited for Dr. Cyclone, aka Tom Wilson, to unveil some of his special doctor potions in the form of patch panels. Although most of the parts the Doctor manufactures are for the 68/69 Cyclone some of them are interchangeable with the Torino of the same vintage.

The Doctor did not disappoint. During our second tech session on day one he reached into his Doctor’s bag and pulled out a number of “get well quick” panels for rusted Cyclones. If you were not lucky enough to attend the Reunion in 2017 we have a video for you with all of the Doctor’s little magical cures.

Dr. Cyclone assured us that he is just getting started and there will be many more Cyclone life saving parts on the way. It seems that the Doctor decides what part to do next based on what his cars need. If you have seen any of his projects you can feel comfortable in knowing he will eventually need every single panel in a Cyclone and we all are the benefactors!

Below is the video of Dr. Cyclones tech session at the 2017 Talladega Spoiler Family Reunion.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
