Spoiler II Nose Braces

Most of you know of Dr. Cyclone (Tom Wilson) for his manufacturing of replacement body panels for needy 68/69 Cyclones. Now there is a Team Member who is helping even more Spoiler II owners. His name is Mike Spillane. He also owns a Spoiler II he is working on as well as doing work on a friends Spoiler II.

Tom has reproduced some parts for his Spoiler II but Mike still needed the struts to hold the panels in place like the factory did. Tom is very buys and has not had a need for struts. In steps Mike, he offered to free up some of Tom’s time by making them.

Include here are some photos of a set of 1/2″ diameter .035 wall Spoiler II struts he has made. A few of his original struts were cracked at the bolt holes, so he punched the holes a little narrower in his reproductions. Otherwise, they are the same lengths with all the proper bends.

He sent Tom a couple of sets. The only problem Tom said he had with them was that he had 9 Spoiler II’s that will likely need them. Mike made him 7 more sets that he will be delivering to him in the near future. You are welcome to can call Tom at (770) 757-1508 and ask him what he thinks about them.

Mike currently has 6 extra sets for sale but can always make more. If anyone is interested they are $140.00 per set plus shipping. You can reach Mike at mispillane@sbcglobal.net.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
