Once a month or so we want to Feature one of the Talladega/Spoiler Registry cars that just submitted information for us to share. This is our first one. It comes to us from Norway and is currently owned by Kjell Rygge. I picked this car for two reasons. First it is in Norway and secondly, some of you may know previous owners of the car.
I sold the car to Kjell and I purchased it from Marty Burke. During its like it was drag raced in the Dallas area. I have visited with the son of the original owner, a single female who has since passed. I also received an email from the owner who painted it black with blacked out bumpers.
Kjell tells me he is going to do a NASCAR tribute car with some big brute of an engine but not sure what yet. I have seen some pictures of his past projects and they are doing some mighty fine work up there in Norway. He has promised to keep us posted on his progress when the snow melts and he can get to work on it.
We will be picking our Feature cars for this monthly article based on the information provided in the Comments section of the Registration form so put is much in there as you can. They don’t have to be as the car is today; I love some of those old 70s photos with the wild repaint or jacked up rear ends etc. I think we all like to see how these cars were personalized back in the day.
Why did owners like to paint their Talladegas Black? Maybe it had something to do with this Smokey Yunick race car.
