Still Time to Get Your Calendar Photos Submitted

9a46q191956

\This is a great opportunity for YOU to get YOUR car on our 2014 calendar. I am looking for high quality and high resolution photos of any Talladega, Spoiler or Spoiler II or related car. I reserve the right to select and edit any photo submitted. I have received some great photos for cars for the Registry but most of them are low resolution and will not work for the calendar. If you want your car/photo to be considered you need to send me the image in a JPG file format; high resolution and emailed to rfleener@comcast.net. You can send as many photos as you want but please do not submit more than 3 high resolution photos in any one email. If you do there is a good chance I will not get them. If you have Registered your car on this site you likely already have a photo that might work but I need the high resolution version.

This year those that have responded have told me they want to see more project cars and barn finds so your car need not be a trailer queen to make our calendar.

You have until September 25th to get them to me.

If you are taking new photos for submission just follow some good basic rules in taking your pictures. Here are a couple of sites you may want to check out:

In general, no open hoods, trunks or doors; details are ok but if you do and engine make sure it is a great show piece. As for field and barn finds, the more rustic and the rougher they are the better. I would love to have some junk yard photos! If it is a project car show us something that is really interesting or reveals the uniqueness of the body; like the fender seams on the Talladega and Spoiler II.

This is a chance for your car to be a star and appear on a calendar. If you have a good photo and you don’t have a high resolution image send it along anyway, we may even create one or more pages with smaller images of multiple cars on it.

If you have any questions please feel free to send me an email. I have included some of the photos from last year’s calendar.

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
