It is not often that one of our Team Members decides to part with one of their cars. It is more common to hear Members asking where they can find another one! Team Member Bill DeGroot has decided to sell his 1969 Maroon and original Talladega. Here is his description (the car is registered on our Registry).
1969 Ford Talladega: VIN# 9A46Q192057 Bessemer, Alabama car. 95% Original OEM parts on the car. This is a real barn find for a purist NASCAR Aerocoupe fan. The engine and transmission have been completely and professionally refurbished and brought back into original specifications. The underbody has been solvent wiped and treated with a light undercoat. New brake lines and fuel lines have been installed. The body is royal maroon, completely rust-free, and has never been re-painted. This car has a complete Marti-Report and Dealer Invoice Documentation. The car has (2) dealer installed period correct options authenticated by the original owner’s family. The dealer add-on options are Mark III under dash A/C and El Tigre hood tachometer. This car is an ALL numbers matching car that has been stored in a dry, off the ground semi-trailer for over 25 years. Prior to that the car had lived its entire life in the Talladega area of Alabama. I asked Bill about some more details on the car and he stated that he has a written letter from the son of the original owner explaining that they had the dealer add ons installed right away. The original owner is now deceased, but Bill has been in contact with his family.
Motor and transmission were professionally rebuilt to the stock original specifications, utilizing all original OEM parts. The torque converter is new. The engine and transmission are currently sealed in a dry shipping crate.
For a serious buyer if requested Bill is willing to install the motor and transmission with all belts, hoses, oil cooler and power steering cooler etc. at a small fee.
