Registry Update / Reunion

REGISTRY UPDATE:

After several months of hair pulling we finally have the online Registration Forms back up and running. They are slightly different and when posted will have a little different appearance but they should also be easier to use. If you have been waiting to Register your Talladega, Spoiler II, Spoiler, Color Code or other car until the online system was back up now is your time!

TALLADEGA SPOILER FAMILY REUNION 2017:

We also sent out an email to all Team Members last week asking about a Talladega Spoiler Family Reunion for 2017. We had several positive responses with early Fall being a preferred time. The tentative date, subject to change, will be Friday October 6th thru Sunday October 8, 2017 at our home and vicinity in Murfreesboro, TN. This is Columbus Day weekend which will give some of you a holiday on Monday for travel. More details will be coming very soon.

We hope to include an informal swap meet of Ford/Mercury Aero car parts for participants. If all goes well I will be setting up a Form topic for parts wanted and parts for sale JUST for the event. That way everyone can make sure they find what they are looking for!

There is a local cruise in that weekend in town and we may even go as a group to show off a little!

SUGGESTIONS:

If you have ideas or suggestions for activities or topics please let me know as soon as possible. rfleener@comcast.net

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
