We will meet at in the Host Hotel Holiday Inn around 9AM for our day of driving. We will depart the hotel at 9:30AM sharp. Our first stop will be near Columbia, TN at the Jason Johnson collection. The property was formerly the home of Country Music star Jason Aldean. We should arrive around 10:AM and depart around noon. Our next stop will be in Columbia, TN for lunch on your own (we are trying to arrange a location where we can all eat together). When lunch is over, we will move on to Michael Medford’s body shop. You might know Michael from his work with Mike Wolfe of the TV show American Pickers (Antique Archology). Michael has appeared on several of the Picker’s episodes. Once we are done there, feel free to visit historic downtown Columbia on your own or return with us to Murfreesboro. No other activities are scheduled for the day.

Our day will begin at the Host Hotel Holiday Inn at 8:30 with a briefing for the day and at 9:00 we board our bus to Nashville. You must have paid for the bus ride in your Registration. Our first stop will be the Lane Motor Museum (your admission is paid in your Registration prior to our arrival). We will spend approximately two hours at the Museum. At approximately noon, we will reboard the bus for our journey to the Grand Ole Opry area. At this location you will find THREE attractions. The first, Opry Mills, is a large shopping mall with large restaurants, movie theatres and, of course, shopping. The second, Opry Land Hotel, is open to everyone, not just quests. There are THREE huge, enclosed areas containing arboretums with streams, fountains and beautiful landscaping, plus shops and restaurants. Don’t miss this, it is one of the must-see attractions in Nashville. The third, is the Grand Ole Opry.  This is the highlight of the day. YOU MUST PRE-PURCHASE YOUR TICKETS AND DO IT IMMEDIATELY, THEY USUALL SELL OUT EARLY. SOME DAYS ARE ALREADY SOLD OUT!

You will need to purchase your tickets for the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday night on your own. Call the Opry Box Office: 1-800-733-6779. Do this IMMEDIATELY they sell out fast. Limited seating is available.

You will have lunch on your own at a location of your choice. There are fine restaurants at both the Mills mall and the Hotel. However, there will be a lot of people at both locations and plan on waiting /or making reservations early. You will also be having your evening meal before the Opry on your own. What ever you do, make sure you leave time to get to the Grand Ole Opry with time to spare. They have some entertainment before the show but MOST IMPORTANTLY, this is a LIVE RADIO broadcast, so it starts and ends on time. The Opry starts promptly at 7:00PM and is over promptly at 9:00PM.

After the Opry, make your way to our bus for the trip back to Murfreesboro.

Richard

Some of my first and strongest memories from my childhood relate to cars. I still remember when things happened based on what car I was driving at the time. I grew up and lived in Iowa for nearly 40 years before moving to Southern California and now live in Tennessee. I was a Corvette fanatic for years but then re-discovered vintage American Muscle. My wife, Katrina, and I decided we wanted to focus on unique and rare muscle cars. After a lot of research we fell in love with the Ford Blue Oval Aero Cars. These were only built in 1969 and and aerodynamics became an important part of winning races. The only purpose of these limited production cars was to win NASCAR races using the Boss 429 and 427 power plants complimented with a special, wind cheating, aerodynamic body. The Ford Talladega and Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II are terrific and historic cars. This site is devoted to these car and their owners past and present. We provide an Online Registry for recording the long term history and ownership of every remaining Talladega, Spoiler and Spoiler II.
