Rick Stanton Passes
Boss 429 Talladega

The car community is unique in its friendships. We all have friends we hang out with in our local community, and we have friends we only see every few years at special shows or events. After years when we reconnect with these special friends, it is often like we just talked the day before. Our conversations are as natural as if we hang out every day.
When we get word that we have lost one of these friends, it is extremely painful. Such grief can often match that of losing a close relative. It is hard to explain. Maybe it reminds us of our own limited time on this earth. Maybe, it is simply that we will no longer be able to learn, share, and laugh with someone who was part of us in some small way.
It is with deep painful grief that I must inform our Members of the recent passing of one of us. If you have followed the Registry over the years or attended Aero Car events, at some point you likely lusted after the beautiful, powerful, Boss 429 powered tribute to Benny Parsons Talladega. This heart-pounding creation was conceived, built, and owned by Rick Stanton. On December 15, 2024, Rick left us and his family for a better place.
Katrina and I considered Rick and Sherrie good friends. Our times together were usually short but always enjoyable. We all lived in Southern California when we first met. However, over the years we moved to TN and the Stanton’s moved to Colorado to be closer to their daughter. Rick continued to keep me posted on his four wheeled exploits and accomplishments. He was a master of the Boss 429. He loved to conceive of some special and sometimes ridiculously overpowered projects. He would then go on to fabricate and assemble some real beasts. He always aimed for high horsepower on the dyno.
Our hearts and prayers go out to his wife, Sherrie, and their daughter, Mechelle, her husband Wes, and the Stanton Family.
Until we meet again Rick, Happy Burnouts.
